Send sesnor data wiimte osculator5/10/2023 The resolution is 1024x768, making for very accurate readings. It is therefore very possible that something you are tracking will swap with something else. The list is ordered from biggest to smallest, so there is NO continuous labelling of blobs. There is a 'camera' on the front of the wiimote that recognizes IR blobs, up to 6 I think, which are sent as a list of 2D coordinates and their respective size/radius.These are typically things like: a jab along a single axis, a flick (in no recognizable direction), a prolonged swing, etc. It is however possible to use some simple heuristics and thresholds to recognize simple gestures. There may be some library out there that will do this for you, but the only one that I am aware of is very expensive. This is probably outside the scope of this HCI course, unless you have a strong background in DSP, pattern analysis, and AI. It requires that you either train the system or design statistical models capable of recognizing patterns in the three acceleration signals. To recognize the occurrence of a gesture from acceleration data is a very demanding task.Pitch and roll readings however become very noisy and unusable if the user applies additional motion - it does not take much motion to reproduce accelerations similar in magnitude to gravity. ![]()
